Cookie Policy
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this policy is to explain how this website uses cookies in order to provide clear and relevant information to allow users to manage their own options while supervising the browsing when accessing the website. The policy uses the term “cookie” and refers to cookies and similar technologies envisaged by law (such as Local Shared Objects – commonly referred to as “flash cookies”, web beacons or bugs, including clear gifs). The information gathered concerns data that could allow users and visitors to be identified by associating and processing said data with data held by third parties (such as, IP addresses, domain names of computers used by persons who browse the website). This data is used only for statistical purposes. This document constitutes an integral part of the Privacy Policy and Informative Notice contained therein and is issued pursuant to article 13 of Legislative Decree 196 of 2003 (Data Protection Code, Italian law which implements the cited European directives) and the EU Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). Therefore, it is advisable to read said document.
APPLICABLE LEGISLATION
The matter is regulated by European Directive EC/2002/58, as amended by directive EC/2009/136 and adopted by national laws of the Member States of the European Union which requires obtaining a consent for cookies and similar technologies.
WHAT ARE COOKIES
Cookies are a small text file, generally formed of letters and numbers and are downloaded on a device when a user accesses the website. Cookies are then forwarded to the original website every other visit. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to identify the user’s device. The use of cookies and similar technologies has been an ordinary factor over time as cookies are important in being able to provide many online services. Therefore, using these cookies is not forbidden by law, but require the user to be informed on the cookies and to be offered the chance to accept or reject them.
OTHER TYPES OF COOKIES
Session and persistent cookies – Cookies may expire at the end of a browsing session (namely when the user opens the browser’s window until the browser is closed) or may be retained for longer periods. Session cookies – they allow websites to link the user’s actions during a browsing session. They may be used for a variety of purposes, like to remind what the user puts in the basket while browsing a site. They may also be used for security purposes when a user accesses a banking website or to facilitate the use of webmail. These session cookies expire after a browsing session. The use of the so-called session cookies (which are in any case saved persistently on the user’s computer and are deleted automatically as soon as the browser is closed) is strictly limited for purposes of transferring data (consisting of casual numbers generated by the server) which identify the specific session and are required to allow a secure and efficient browsing. The so-called session cookies used in this website avoid the need to use other technical information which may potentially compromise the privacy of users’ browsing online. Persistent cookies are saved on the user’s device during different browsing sessions and enable us to remember the user’s actions in a website. Persistent cookies may be used for a variety of purposes, as well as to enable us to remember the user’s preferences and actions when browsing a website (or in some cases through different websites). “First-Party” or “Third-Party” Cookies. What determines for a cookie to be “first-party” or “third-party” is strictly associated with the website or domain that uses that particular cookie. “First-party” cookies are mainly cookies set by the same website visited by the user, meaning the website displayed in the URL window: in our case, the cookies set by www.kiton.it. “Third-party” cookies are cookies that are set by a domain other than the one visited by the user; namely, cookies that are set by websites other than kiton.it. If a user visits a website like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and Weibo, this specific cookie is a “third-party” cookie.
DATA CONTROLLER
Ciro Paone S.p.a., as described in the Privacy Policy, is the data controller and is responsible only for its cookies, namely “first-party” cookies while “third-party” cookies are owned by the respective companies, identified according to the table included in this document.
